| Brandy Rayana Norwood (born February 11, 1979), known professionally as Brandy, is an pop/R&B singer and actress. She was born in McComb, Mississippi, USA and raised in southern California.
Norwood's father was a pastor, and by the age of two, she was singing at his church. Brandy became a fan of Whitney Houston, and she told her father that she wanted to be a singer, like Houston.
